Take your first step towards driving a main battle tank. Welcome to our off road military area and tank driving base near Prague where your personal tank driving lesson awaits you! In this program you get to drive the Czech built VT-55 recovery tank. Built on the T-55 hull, this repair vehicle has the same cabin and controls as the T-55, but is much lighter and has more space for the driver making it the perfect driver training vehicle for the main battle tank. As well fits drivers which are to big for the battle tank.

After an introductory training video, climb aboard the tank. Our experienced instructor drives the first 5 minutes himself and then you take your position in the control cabin. Our team patiently guide you through the operating procedures as you take command of the controls and drive the tank over rough and varied terrain. Feel the cold metal against your skin, the smell of tank fuel and the deafening roar of the engine as you experience the unsurpassed strength of this gigantic vehicle.

After this exhilarating experience, you will be brought back to earth with a guided tour of our military museum where you can see a range of military vehicles and weapons including: T-55 Tanks, BRDM, OT-64, BMP Armoured Personnel Carriers as well as an original SA6 soviet rocket carrier.

Total duration: 1.5 - 2 hours.
Availability: All year round (during daylight hours).
Minimum age 18, driving licence necessary
For safety reasons, spectators are not permitted during this event however up to 10 passengers on the tank as you drive (Additional cost)
*Tank driving times include 5 minutes instructor driving. Clients drive for 25 minutes.

VT-55 Armoured Recovery Vehicle

In the early 50s USSR started developing an ARV build on the hull of T-54 that was just entering production. A prototype vehicle was completed after a short while and was named BTS-1 (BTS - Bronirowannyj Tjagacz Sriednij). Production was launched and it became the basic ARV of the soviet army.

In 1955 BTS-1 was upgraded with a hoist and a small folding crane. This upgraded version was given name of BTS-2. It was build on the T-54 hull and later on the T-55 hull. In the end of the 60s Poland and Czechoslovakia bought the BTS-2 license. Basing on BTS-2 technical data the polish as well the Czechoslovaken army devoeloped a ARV.
